We also give you plenty of time to explore the city of Kota Kinabalu, with its seafront and pavement restaurants— just wander the centre of the city to take in the ambience of its mixture of Asian and Western lifestyles - shop in the local markets and airconditioned shopping malls - relax at the hotel poolside and on one of the fabulous coral islands of Tunku Abdul Rahman Park.
With visits to Sepilok Orang utan Rehabilitation Centre, a cultural village. plus two nights at a jungle lodge, this must be one of the best tours to Sabah, in Malaysian Borneo.

This optional day tour can only be described as breath-taking as you travel to the Padas Gorge and descend the river by raft. White water rafting can not be any more exciting than this! A day of excitement and exhilaration, giving a whole new perspective and an appreciation of the way the early explorers made their way around Borneo. (Please note that this day excursion is not available to single travellers, unless able to join an existing larger group)

TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1    Fly UK to Kota Kinabalu.

Day 2    Arrive at Kota Kinabalu where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 3    Half day city tour of Kota Kinabalu. Remainder of day at leisure. (B)

Day 4    Fly to Sandakan. Check in to your hotel in time for lunch. Visit to Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary for the afternoon feeding session. Overnight at Sepilok. (B/L)

Day 5   Visit Sepilok Orang Utan Centre for morning & afternoon feeding, Overnight Sepilok. (B/L)

Day 6    Travel up the Kinabatangan River to Sukau and check in to Jungle Lodge. Late afternoon boat ride to see proboscis monkeys. Overnight at Jungle Lodge (B/L/D)

Day 7    Oxbow lake & Menanggol cruise to view wildlife. Overnight at Jungle Lodge (B/L/D)

Day 8    Return by boat to Sandakan for a short city tour and after lunch transfer to airport for flight back to Kota Kinabalu, where you will be met & transferred to your hotel. (B/L)

Day 9   Full day Poring Hot Springs tour. Drive to Poring Hot Springs and walk through dipterocarp forest rich in wild fruit trees and animal life, passing giant bamboos and ginger plants with edible flowers to reach a jungle-canopy walkway 40m above ground. Then, if you want, you can relax in open air outdoor tubs filled with hot/cold running mineral waters (indoor tubs optional extra).
Mid afternoon, return to Kota Kinabalu. Overnight at hotel. (B/L)

Day 10   Half day visit to cultural village. Remainder of day at leisure. (B)

Day 11   Full day at leisure or optional tour. (B)

Day 12 Check out from your hotel & transfer to the jetty for boat ride to
Manukan Island & check in. (B)

Day 13 Day at leisure on Manukan Island. (B)

Day 14 Appropriately timed transfer by boat and car to airport for return flight to the UK. (B)
